A Nation in Mourning

Today, our nation pauses in solemn grief as we mourn the loss of three courageous American service members who gave their lives during operations connected to Iran.
These brave individuals answered the call to serve in one of the world’s most dangerous regions, fully conscious of the risks they faced. They stood firm in their duty, motivated by an unwavering dedication to safeguarding our freedoms and protecting the values we hold dear. Their sacrifice leaves an absence that can never truly be replaced.
We also lift our thoughts and prayers for the service members who were wounded in this engagement and now face the difficult path toward healing. May they be granted strength, resilience, and swift recovery in the days ahead.
To the families of the fallen — those who have endured the unimaginable knock on the door — we extend our deepest sympathies.
No words can fully ease such profound loss, but please know that the nation stands with you in shared sorrow and gratitude.
This heartbreaking moment reminds us that the cost of liberty is often borne by the brave few willing to stand in harm’s way for the many. These heroes embodied honor, courage, and selfless service, and their legacy will endure in the story of our nation.
May they rest in eternal peace. Their watch has ended — and we will carry it forward.
